Louis Genty

Louis Genty discovered his passion for printmaking after graduating from high school, during evening classes at Duperré. It was love at first sight. He continued his studies at the Estienne School, where he developed a love for miniatures and decided to become a stamp engraver. He achieved this goal with the help of Guy Vigoureux, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, who trained him in his studio. Meanwhile, he founded the association Atelier de la Carabine with friends, offering printmaking workshops and a studio for artists. This association allowed him to exhibit his works at various events and galleries. In 2020, he began working as a printmaker at Philaposte, creating his first stamp for Andorra and subsequently taking on commissions for Andorra, France, and Monaco. Three years later, he co-founded Atelier MBB in Paris. Artistically, Louis Genty combines traditional drawings with vibrant colors and modern techniques, influenced by Picasso's geometric style, 1930s posters, and the comics of Robert Crumb. His works explore themes such as the tales of Périgord, femininity in male artists, and a series on a mythical animal, Le Pigase.
