Nicolas Bical

Born in 1989, Nicolas Bical quickly developed a taste for the graphic and plastic representation of objects and the body in space. He trained in printmaking at the École Estienne, where he discovered the discipline with great enthusiasm between 2010 and 2012. After graduating, he received a grant from UNESCO and the Fondation Culture et Diversité for a 4-month internship in Buenos Aires. Fascinated since childhood by fantasy, mythology and science fiction science fiction, he has developed his graphic universe around imaginary animals, characters and landscapes, sometimes with medieval, antique or futuristic references. Using a variety of media, he regularly explores the subjects of crossovers, intermingling and clusters, favoring spontaneity over construction in his creations. In his sketches, he likes to lose himself in a form of "automatic drawing", letting the shapes dictate what comes next.
