About us
Welcome Prints is THE platform for works of art
dedicated to original art prints by printmakers
of today.

Our mission
We hope to make everyone aware that there is an alternative for acquiring accessible artwork.
We aim to democratize original art prints by introducing the various techniques that make them unique.
UNIQUE PRINTS – SELECTED ARTISTS
Each work is imagined, drawn or engraved by the artist, inked and printed by hand in workshops run by committed artists and printers.
Each print requires a lot of time and, above all, real expertise.
Art print is a blend of art and craftsmanship that promises a unique work.
A community of artists and printers from the four corners of the globe who bring this medium to life.

Where does Welcome Prints come from?
I am Morgane, and the story of Welcome Prints is the story of three key encounters.

Chapter One
Michel and Saint Joseph’s Oratory
After completing an art history degree in Canada, I began my first job at an auction house as the assistant manager of the international department.
Michel Brisebois, former curator of the rare books department at the National Library of Canada and a retired bookseller, is one of the experts frequently consulted to evaluate books and prints.
A first meeting, then a second, then a third; he opens his collection to me and teaches me the different techniques of engraving. On the heights of Montreal, behind Saint Joseph’s Oratory where we used to walk, Michel is the starting point of this adventure around prints; he becomes my mentor and my grandfather in spirit.
Second Chapter
John and benches in Central Park
A few years later, it was time for the big move to New York to dive deeper into the world of printmaking. While waiting for my work permit, I volunteered to repaint the benches in Central Park. This anecdote greatly amused John Szoke, the gallery owner I reached out to once my permit came through.
He invites me to join his gallery, which specializes in prints and works on paper by Munch and Picasso. During this time, I immerse myself in the details of certain techniques alongside incredible works. Thanks to John, I understand the importance of engraving for these two artists, who are among the greatest of their generation.

Third Chapter
Gérard, Montmartre and the Delâtre workshop.
It is time to return to France. Paris is the perfect city to continue exploring the art of engraving. Shortly after my arrival, I have the chance to join the team at the Maeght Gallery, one of the best places to be surrounded by prints. At the same time, I start a master’s program at Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
During this academic journey, I write two theses on Delâtre, father and son, their printing workshop in Montmartre, and their respective works as artist-engravers. I meet Gérard Jouhet, a collector and expert on Delâtre, who opens his collection to me. He is also the Secretary General of the ‘Association des Amateurs d’Estampes.’ His passion is contagious, and I meet many other enthusiasts.
Fourth Chapter
Welcome Prints.
After all these years on the move, I am returning home to Marseille and deciding to launch a platform offering original art prints. This project is incubated with Creatis, which supports start-ups in the fields of media and culture.
Welcome Prints is born. It was designed for contemporary and independent artists with the aim of democratizing art prints for as many people as possible.
Together, let’s write this new chapter and widely promote Original Art Prints.
